Woodworking Sessions - Skills, Confidence & Community
I offer one‑on‑one woodworking sessions in a fully equipped, insured workshop in Perth (6054). With over 30 years’ experience as a qualified furniture maker, I’m dedicated to supporting people - especially those on the autism spectrum - to learn practical skills, build confidence, and feel empowered through hands‑on, meaningful work.
My sessions welcome NDIS participants and agencies across Perth, Western Australia.
Supports can be funded under:
Social and Community Participation (NDIS 04_210_0125_6_1)
Skills Development & Training (NDIS 09_009_0117_6_3)
Finding and Keeping a Job (NDIS 10_021_0102_5_3)
Sessions are offered as a weekly commitment of 2 or more hours, providing structure, routine, and continuity - key ingredients for building skills, confidence, and long‑term progress.
Clients begin with an initial project - a double planter crate - to learn foundational skills safely and comfortably. From there, they choose their own small‑to‑medium projects and build them from start to finish at their own pace. Every completed piece is theirs to take home and proudly show to family and friends.
I warmly welcome clients of all genders, backgrounds, and abilities. My program is open to anyone with an interest in hands‑on learning, skill building, and creative expression. I would dearly love to support more female clients who are interested in woodworking, but everyone is genuinely welcome in my workshop. All sessions follow the current NDIS price limits.
What clients gain:
Hands‑on learning in a calm, supportive environment
Confidence‑building through achievable, meaningful projects
Safe use of power tools and machinery under close supervision
Practical skills that may support future workforce opportunities
A sense of independence, pride, and accomplishment
Experience working with recycled timbers and sustainable materials
We build more than just projects.
We build confidence, capability, resilience, and a sense of belonging. Clients learn real‑world skills while developing problem‑solving, focus, communication, and self‑belief—qualities that benefit everyday life and potential employment pathways.
I love timber, I love teaching, and I’m committed to helping each person feel valued, capable, and supported. My hourly fee covers materials, workshop costs, and personalised one‑on‑one guidance.
If you’d like to explore whether this is the right fit for you or someone you support, I’d be delighted to chat.
